WOOD STUFF Grain Filler is an extremely low viscosity, color specific, nontoxic, waterborne wood pore filler or wood grain filler that can complement a wide variety of wood products from MDF molding profiles to solid hardwood flooring. Not only is it extremely easy to apply, unlike other grain or pore fillers, it is also extremely easy to reduce or remove. When applied properly, Wood Stuff Grain Filler dries almost immediately without raising the grain of the wood. Wood Stuff Grain Filler can be easily removed with water or by light hand sanding, regardless of age, yet can be coated and sealed to the same durability as the coating with which it is sealed without fear of inter-coat adhesion. Virtually any type of coating can be applied over Wood Stuff Grain Filler from waterborne urethanes to oil-modified urethanes to acid cures to lacquers.
Although not originally designed as an inter-coat filler or leveler (capable of being applied between coats of finish without compromising inter-coat adhesion), many current users of Wood Stuff Grain Filler purchase the product exclusively for this purpose.
Grain Filler was initially formulated to replace the paste wood fillers commonly utilized by all wood finishers 20 to 30 years ago including those involved in the wood floor finishing business. The paste wood fillers were often toxic and usually highly flammable. They were time consuming to apply and laborious to remove yet they imparted a look that can still not be replicated without the use of grain or pore filler. Modern finish technology has allowed wood finishers to move closer to the appearance of a filled grain look without the use of a grain or pore filler. But, even the untrained eye can immediately tell the difference between grain or pore filled products and those that have only been sealed or coated with stain and/or finish.
WOOD STUFF Grain Filler is available in the following sizes; one quart (approx 175 sq. ft./qt), one gallon (approx 750 sq. ft./gal), and 3.5 gallons.
The colors are Light Oak—to match red oak, Dark Oak—to match white oak, Light Maple, Light Ash, Brazilian Cherry, Antique Heart Pine, Antique White, Walnut and Ebony. |
